A 16.5 metre performance catamaran that embodies grace, space, and fantastic pace. Designed by Tim Clissold with a mast designed by Chris Mitchell, engineered by High Modulus and built by NZ Multihulls this hot mustard mover is a highly engineered, one-piece composite platform that provides maximum stiffness under sail, and a safe and comfortable platform for the crew. The vision behind the design also embraces aesthetics, controllable handling, easy two-handed sailing, comfort and specific requirements about weight, performance, on board systems and a moulded, seamless look.
Quality, the strength and lightness is everywhere in this boat, yet the stiffness in the hull gives the cat ability to point upwind. The aft Lumite trampoline area is huge at seven metres wide and six metres deep and remains firm underfoot in the worst conditions. Each hull has a single bunk forward and a snug double aft, both with opening hatches on the inboard chamfer panel for ventilation, viewing and emergency access. The port hull amidships contains a head/shower and navigation station, while the corresponding portion of the starboard hull contains a dinette and a full galley. The boat has 2 x Lombardini 30hp diesels. These are mounted in sealed lockers well aft and custom-built, shaft drive, twin-bladed Gori folding propellers that enable it to motor at 11 knots max or 8 knots in cruise mode.
