A classic Bruce Roberts cruising yacht offered at a very reasonable price.
A robust and really well equipped Blue Water Cruising Yacht – Steel with a semi long keel and proven passage maker.
Taurus was built by the renowned German wharf Feltz (Karl u. Peter Feltz Bootswerft, Hamburg) in 1980, very well kept, spacious and comfortable and was extended from originally 11.60m to 12.00m. Feltz Skorpion yachts are designed mainly for bluewater cruising and are well known for their ideal hull thickness, strength and speed. The semi long keel and slim design makes the yacht very course stable, ideal for steering with wind vane and autopilot. The engine located in the keel is an integral part of the ballast, making her comparatively light to other steel yachts and helping to make the living space quite spacious. The hull design with its high freeboard and sharp stem allows the yacht to sail very dry and stable in all situations.
The centre cockpit is large, with a central table, with covers and clears providing shelter from sun and spray, and below is a generous sized double berth, good sized saloon, a passage way to the aft cabin, which has two single berths and plenty of storagE.

This popular North American Island Packet 44 design is well set up for comfort with a roomy interior and generous headroom – with designer Bob Johnson providing a modern interpretation of a traditional full keel, recognized by the shallow draft, spacious accommodation and rugged GRP with a cedar core.
The full one piece keel combines the performance of a modern hull with the superior sea keeping and safety of the longer keel, and provides additional protection from damage for rudder and propeller. The boat has a versatile and easily managed cutter rig and boomed jib, exceptional comfort and liveability, spirited sailing performance, superb build quality and award-winning features. With high quality finish, berths for seven in 3 doubles and one single, and a great galley.
She has an exceptionally comfortable saloon and “head” with a separate shower stall and ample storage. Island Packet models have won several industry awards over the years, including seven Cruising World magazine “Boat of the Year” awards and three SAIL magazine “Best Boats” awards.

A top boat, very well presented and at a very good price, really well prepared for coastal and offshore cruising and club racing, with a very easily handled rig. A very comfortable yacht with a long list of essential offshore equipment, she’s not too far off Cat 1. The yacht has a moderate-displacement hull (9600kg on a waterline length of 1.45m) with the Standard 1.65m iron keel, which has a reverse profile – maximum chord is at the bottom – to support the substantial bulb. The rudder is very deep, almost as deep as the 1.65m keel.
The boat features a large cockpit and clear decks – she’s easy to walk around. Twin spreader nine-tenths rig (the forestay attaches to the mast well below the masthead) with single lowers. The chainplates are tied to the keel structure by stainless steel rods, which are visible in the outboard areas of the saloon. The No.1 genoa has a substantial overlap, but great for effortless and short handed sailing.
The three-cabin set-up has a master stateroom in the bow, and two double cabins aft. Galley is arranged in linear fashion down the port side. The work surface extends full-length, including a cover over the stove, which hides the cook top when not in use. The surface itself is Corian.
The two mirror-image double cabins aft have plenty of shelving, hanging space and lockers, with opening hatches mounted in the front faces of the cockpit seats to provide ventilation.

She is powered by a Yanmar 140 hp engine in a walk-in engine compartment directly below the pilothouse.
